CNL and megatel come together as technology partners

CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM), announces a technology partnership with megatel, a leading developer of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the Aviation Industry and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).

The company megatel specialises in the recording, managing, analysing and presenting location-oriented data in a range of critical environments, where working with data in a geographical context is vital. It enables organisations to visualise their entire estate and assets for situation management. megatel's leading GIS product visorTT, combines Telematics, Track and Trace of assets with an easy method to create and populate a GIS environment. Additionally it has a number of valuable add on modules, such as a clustered high-availability Oracle databases and telematics modules.

The integration was accelerated for a showcase Kuwaiti Critical Infrastructure Protection project. This project is the debut integration of the megatel's visorTT product. It introduces Tracking, Identification, Positioning and Security System into the C4 command and control room to enable live, functional and robust monitoring of objects within IPSecurityCenter™. This project integrates IPSecurityCenter with core features of visorTT, with planned future enhancements to increase the breadth and complexity of the functionality available to the end users.

The solution offers significant benefits to end users, including a dynamic mapping system that automatically updates live assets and alarms whether land or sea based, on any map integrated with IPSecurityCenter. It allows assets and associated metadata updates within milliseconds as new tracking data is received and logged in the database, giving immediate situational awareness.

".....Certification will facilitate bi-directional communication of rich alarm information directly with IPSecurityCenter."

The integration also supports near real-time colour map screen rendering of Aerial, Satellite, Nautical and Street maps, with interactive map navigation and zoom achieved by simply pointing and clicking.

Jon Lunnerfeldt, Technology Alliance Programme (TAP) Partner Manager at CNL comments, "This partnership through CNL's TAP, will ensure megatel products such as visorTT are certified to work with IPSecurityCenter. Certification will facilitate bi-directional communication of rich alarm information directly with IPSecurityCenter, allowing intelligence from other systems such as video surveillance and access control to be used to verify alarms. Once an alarm has been verified, these systems can work intelligently using workflow technology through a Common Operating Picture (COP) to manage and resolve an incident for the best outcome to any situation."

The TAP program was initiated by CNL to allow interoperability between disparate security technologies, giving End Users the ability to create optimised solutions for risk reduction within their organisations. It provides TAP partners with a Device Driver Kit (DDK) to allow faster and deeper integration within the CNL Partner Ecosystem.
