BriefCam’s surveillance factor shoots up after technology partnership with Genetec
Users of Genetec's world-class IP video surveillance solutions will now benefit from BriefCam's VS technology

BriefCam Ltd., a developer and provider of Video Synopsis systems for reviewing, analysing and indexing of surveillance camera content, announced that it has added Genetec, a leader in innovative IP security and public safety solutions, as its newest technology partner.

Users of Genetec's world-class IP video surveillance solutions will now benefit from BriefCam's Video Synopsis technology, which creates summaries of original surveillance video, giving users the ability to browse hours of surveillance video footage in just minutes.

Genetec is a pioneer in the physical security and public safety industry and a global provider of world-class IP video surveillance, access control and license plate recognition (LPR) solutions to markets such as transportation, education, retail, gaming, government and more.

Video Synopsis is BriefCam's major innovation, a proprietary image-processing technology that creates synopses of original full-length surveillance videos. BriefCam provides a complete representation of all events occurring during hours of video footage in a condensed clip as short as a few minutes in length.

BriefCam VS Online is now integrated to Genetec's Security Center 4.0, a security platform that unifies Genetec's Omnicast, Synergis and AutoVu IP

The synopsis is made possible by simultaneously presenting multiple objects and activities that have occurred at different times. Video Synopsis enables the rapid review and indexing of captured video footage - with an index to the original source video; live video feed online and archived video footage offline - for on-the-spot event tracking, forensic investigation and evidence discovery.

BriefCam VS Online is now integrated to Genetec's Security Center 4.0, a security platform that unifies Genetec's Omnicast IP video surveillance, Synergis IP access control systems, and AutoVu IP license plate recognition (LPR) system. The unified solution represents another step towards fulfilling Genetec's vision of offering customers a single point from which to monitor their security and safety systems.

"The integration of Video Synopsis reinforces Genetec's commitment to the open-architecture platform, offering customers more choice in best-of-breed solutions and strengthened security," said Michel Chalouhi, Director of Product Management at Genetec. "We are glad to help BriefCam realise their vision of Total Video Review, where all surveillance footage is reviewed in entirety at the beginning and end of each security shift."

"Genetec is an undisputed leader in the field of IP video surveillance and we are honoured to announce this technology partnership," said Gideon Ben-Zvi, Chairman and Co-founder of BriefCam. "Genetec has recognised the acute need expressed by security personnel worldwide: to be able to browse the hours of surveillance video generated daily. Rapid video review means more effective investigations, with decisions made in time and not after the fact."

BriefCam will be at IFSEC 2010, May 10-13, NEC Birmingham UK.
