Axis Security secures the Echo newspaper building
All Axis Security officers on-site are trained to the CCTV SIA licence as standard
Axis Security, one of the UK's fastest growing providers of integrated security solutions, has been selected to protect and provide concierge services at the old Echo newspaper building in Sunderland. Echo 24 is the redevelopment of the old Sunderland Echo newspaper offices, on the South bank of the River Wear. With curving, art-deco forms the building is clad with 2,200 square metres of acid-etched white reconstructed stone framing the glazing.

Three officers are on-site 24-hours a day, seven days a week to provide concierge services to residents including helping them to move in, taking deliveries and intervening in nuisance calls, including noise complaints.

Sarah Dudgeon, Property Director of Adderstone Estate Management, which manages Echo 24, believes the tenants are extremely satisfied with the Service. "Not only do Axis officers provide a reassuring presence on-site, but also give a very useful service ensuring residents do not miss packages being delivered, and can take complaints about noise or inconsiderate behaviour anonymously," she says. "The welcoming and friendly face at reception adds another level of quality to the apartments."

Axis Security is well-known for providing high-level security for a number of prestigious organisations in the area, including Rolls Royce and various parts of the local NHS. David Riley, Regional Head for Axis Security says: "We provide a full time concierge service to the tenants and monitor the network of CCTV cameras that cover the interior and exterior of the building. Not only does this gives the tenants a feeling of safety, but also assists them in enjoying all the benefits of the apartments with none of the usual headaches."

Anyone monitoring CCTV that covers public areas is obliged to have the SIA licence by law, all Axis Security officers on-site are trained to the CCTV SIA licence as standard.
