COMPUTERLINKS signed an agreement to distribute MOBOTIX high resolution IP-based cameras in the UK and Ireland |
The MOBOTIX range of high-resolution cameras will be supplied with analytical software already installed along with their own digital media (SD card). For the network or IT manager considering installing an IP-based CCTV solution, requirements for network bandwidth can be lowered as all the processing takes place in the camera itself. The high level of detail achieved with the megapixel wide-angle images also means that fewer cameras are required, making a true high-resolution video system a cost-effective solution for organisations looking to manage both their physical and IT security over the network.
John Turner, head of COMPUTERLINKS' physical security division commented: "Because MOBOTIX cameras are self-contained units, effectively computers with lenses and powered by the network, they are straightforward to install and manage. IT resellers considering entering this new market can do so with confidence as they will have full logistical and technical support from COMPUTERLINKS as their existing IT security and networking distributor."
The full range of vendors in COMPUTERLINKS' physical security division now also includes MOBOTIX |
According to IMS Research the market for Network Video Surveillance is worth 1 billion USD for 2009 and is set to rise to 2.4 billion USD by 2012. Research commissioned last month by COMPUTERLINKS suggested that 41 percent of large enterprises are now considering implementing IP-based physical security solutions in the next six months.
Andrew McCarthy, business development manager at MOBOTIX said, "We are delighted to have COMPUTERLINKS as a distributor and see their ability to provide full pre-sales and technical support as key to the development of this market."
The full range of vendors in COMPUTERLINKS' physical security division now includes; Panasonic System Solutions, Milestone Systems, Honeywell Access Systems and Honeywell Video Systems, Netgenium Systems, HID Global, and Mobotix.
