infinias, an industry-leading provider of IP-based access control hardware and software, has launched the company’s new Mobile Credential. Mobile Credential extends the capabilities of an infinias access control solution to users’ smartphones—delivering enhanced security and convenient authorised access to designated doors at a facility.

infinias Mobile Credential provides complete access control functionality, allowing a user to present their credential via the network. Users are provided with, and can request access to just the doors for which they have authorised access. The credential is authenticated and the event documented by the infinias Intelli-M Access management software each time it is presented for use. If a mobile phone is lost, or an employee terminated, no access to the phone is required to immediately disable the credential.

“The use of infinias’ Mobile Credential adds a layer of security and flexibility for any organisation,” said Wayne Jared, President of infinias. “Unlike cards and other access credentials, people tend to be much more aware of the location of their mobile phone than their traditional credential. If a phone goes missing, the owner is aware of it very quickly, while the loss of a proximity card could go unnoticed or unreported for days. With the ability of current smartphones to require a biometric, pin or gesture to unlock the phone, you effectively add a second layer of authentication to the credential.”

Both Android and iPhone platforms are supported by Mobile Credential; and the free mobile app can be easily downloaded onto a user’s phone. Mobile Credential integrates easily with infinias’ Intelli-M Access 4.0 software for seamless network-based communication and access control management.

infinias’ IP-based access control solutions and Mobile Credential are available through a variety of infinias distributors and manufacturer’s representatives.
