COE Limited, the developer and supplier of advanced video systems, has completed the supply of COE X-Net® to Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) for the Valencia Metro video monitoring system upgrade.  Against strong competition COE X-Net® was selected for new station upgrades.  Valencia Metro consists of four lines and serves over 61 million passenger journeys a year from its 116 stations.

COE has for several years supplied multi-channel video transmission technology to FGV through its agent Revenga Enginerios and recent station expansion has employed COE XNET OPT8 digital video multiplexers for transmitting 8 channels from each station back to the Control Room.  To increase fibre capacity X-Net® CWDM optical multiplexing has been introduced and now 4 stations are linked back to the Control Room on just 1 optical fibre.

"The COE X-Net® system provides us with the flexibility we need when implementing these complex and demanding systems," said Daniel Rogero, senior systems engineer with Revenga Enginerios.

COE Group Plc has supplied complex surveillance systems to many European and Far East Metro systems in its 18 year history.  Andrew Wallace, CEO, commented: "Our clients look for long term reliability and quality when choosing core system technology and the performance of our existing systems have borne this out.  We are pleased that COE X-Net® has been chosen for this critical role within the Valencia Metro."

Transport infrastructure systems have to meet stringent environmental and performance criteria.  COE's E-class video codecs, X-Net® and support services are geared to this specialist market.
