D-Link has introduced its JustConnect standalone multi-functional network video recorder (DNR-2060-08P), designed to power a comprehensive, end-to-end IP surveillance solution for SMBs. JustConnect reduces the time, complexity and cost  of network set-up  for installers servicing small businesses, such as offices, retail outlets  or boutique hotels. This launch marks the first time installers can offer such a sophisticated, yet easy to deploy Network Video Solution to small businesses without a prohibitive price tag.

With JustConnect, comprehensive surveillance capabilities are accessible to users with little or no technical knowledge. Users can 'just connect' up to eight IP surveillance cameras, requiring zero configuration, no need for additional switches or even a PC – for a network set-up that couldn’t be quicker or easier.

Network management is simple, with authorised users easily able to view cameras, record and play-back footage. Users also have the power to manage options, for example, to set scheduled or event-driven recording schedules, adjust camera focus, and export video footage for evidential purposes.

Small business owners can benefit from advanced features such as motion detection, which triggers recording when motion is sensed. This offers ease of monitoring, as well as reducing storage requirements. These features combined with high quality video footage, make the JustConnect NVR ideal for a local supermarket looking to reduce shrinkage, or a boutique hotel wanting to secure its premises.

Users can remotely monitor their surveillance network in real-time through the JustConnect+ mobile app for smart phones or tablets. It offers total peace-of-mind 24/7 for business owners to view live video or playback recorded footage, at anytime, when connected to the Internet.

Andrew Mulholland, Business Solutions Manager at D-Link UK & Ireland commented: “JustConnect brings comprehensive surveillance capabilities to users with any level of technical knowledge. It’s a unique product in terms of ease and speed of set-up for installers. At the same time, this is the first time SMBs can gain access to a comprehensive IP surveillance solution with remote management functionality, at such a competitive price point.”

“D-Link is quickly growing in the IP surveillance business, as consumer demand increases. Small business owners may previously have been discouraged by the cost and complexity involved in the installation of other NVR products. D-Link has brought its expertise in IP surveillance to JustConnect, responding to SMBs’ needs for an affordable, comprehensive IP surveillance solution.”

Besides cameras, JustConnect requires only a standard SATA hard drive for storage, and an HDMI or VGA monitor for display. JustConnect automatically sets up various networks protocols for the installer, including IP addresses and Quality of Service (QoS).

Cameras can be installed using only an ethernet network cable, as opposed to both the coaxial and power cables required for analogue cameras. This complements D-Link’s extensive range of Power over Ethernet (PoE)-compliant IP Surveillance cameras, and eliminates the need for costly additional power cabling.
