Video surveillance and remote monitoring company mobiDEOS Inc. is bringing the power of mobile surveillance and "pan/tilt/zoom" to law enforcement agencies tasked with ensuring public safety in an increasingly mobile world.

mobiDEOS is the creator of MobileCamViewer, a software-based surveillance solution used globally by businesses, police agencies and consumers to remotely monitor properties and locations from smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices. The company introduces the MobileCamViewer Pole-Camera application to empower remote video viewing for law enforcement agencies where bandwidth is limited.

The Pole-Camera application uses cloud-based technology to allow multiple officers and detectives to access and watch live streaming video from the same pole camera - giving law enforcement agencies the power to assign more than one officer to monitor activity  among public walkways, busy intersections, school and university campuses, crowded parking lots and other active locations.  The cloud-based technology reuses the same video feed to reduce ongoing bandwidth costs.

Users can also manipulate pole cameras remotely with the application's built-in pan/tilt/zoom capability - providing more control to officers covering large areas in mobile surveillance operations.

"Cameras mounted on utility or tactical extension poles typically have very low upload bandwidth, making it difficult for multiple users to view cameras at the same time," said Sri Palasamudram, CEO of mobiDEOS, Inc.  "This limits the effectiveness of tactical operations and creates an increased officer safety risk.  The MobileCamViewer Pole-Camera application ensures that surveillance and tactical operations are no longer limited by the number of users.  This results in quicker apprehension of criminals and increases officer safety."

An unlimited number of officers can share the live pole camera video from virtually any smart phone or tablet, including the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Android, Android Tablet and Windows Mobile phone.  MAC and PC users can also access the application for fixed surveillance purposes.  mobiDEOS has also incorporated full administrator control over video access and the ability to disable to lost or stolen devices.

"The new application is a game-changer for surveillance operations," said Steve Cercone, retired Chief of Police and Law Enforcement Advisor for mobiDEOS.  "Whether it's used for undercover surveillance, SWAT operations or street observation by patrol officers around the corner of a trouble spot, multiple officers can now be on the same page."
