The surveillance system combats crime and enhances efficiency of Police operations |
Buzau, the railway hub of Romania, recently upgraded its municipal surveillance system for the sake of its safety improvement and criminality prevention. With the support of KMW Systems – Dahua’s distributor in Romania, system integrator Mira Telecom successfully implemented the system.
Buzau’s road surveillance system was designed to assist local authorities to combat crimes and regulate traffic to better ensure municipal safety and safeguarding the public’s assets. Building access points, intersections and pedestrian zones are incorporated into security zones. Taking the surveillance environment into account, which has a wide variety of lighting conditions and weather, Buzau municipal officials specified that the products needed to have high image quality and a long life span. The cameras shall be of high-pixels, low-illumination and easy-installed and maintained.
Dahua 5-megapixel IPCs and 36x optical zoom IP speed domes well match the requirements, and they have been installed in 99 and 64 locations respectively throughout Buzau County.
Dahua 5-megapixel IPC adopts 1/2.5-inch 5Mp Aptina COMS, presenting crisp and sharp detail, its H.264/MJPEG video compression algorithm and dual-stream encoding technology together brings stronger capability while using the bandwidth more efficiently. Its PoE power supply makes installation more convenient. In addition, the BNC out port saves a lot of trouble when adjusting the device.
As for the dome cameras, Buzau adopted two Dahua IP dome series, a 36x optical IR dome DH-SD6936HN and the cost-effective dome DH-SD6336HN. DH-SD6936HN has an IR range up to 100m, both models adopt in-house block camera, ensuring good quality while keeping the cost under control. Dahua IP cameras and domes all conform to Onvif.
As for the storage end, given the large amount of data needed to be stored, the Control Center chose to use 14 PCs. Servers running Dahua DSS central management software to record, display and playback high resolution video images and to ensure the system management.
Mr. Constantin Boscodeala, the mayor of Buzau city said: “The project combats crimes and enhances the efficiency of police operations by using all benefits offered the by state of the art surveillance system.”
