Guadalajara is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Jalisco, and the seat of the municipality of Guadalajara. Mexico's fourth most populous municipality is reported to be challenged by crime including: robberies, assaults, car thefts, etc.
Mass transit is generally considered unsafe. Purse-snatching and armed robberies have been common on buses. Drivers sometimes illegally put the bus fare in their own pockets.
Another issue addressed by the new system is traffic accidents, which have remained untracked without security cameras. To reduce serious crimes that continued to take place on buses, security cameras are required to be installed on all buses by transport regulations since 2014.

The vandal-proof analogue cameras are installed beside the driver’s seat, in the middle of the bus and at the rear, monitoring all the areas inside the bus. With IR LEDs range up to 10 metres, it can deliver great day/night performance in any lighting conditions.
Meanwhile, Dahua 0404ME-U-GC, 4 Channel Mobile Standalone DVR is set at the middle front of the bus, which supports SXGA real-time live view and full channel synchronous real-time playback. It helps record traffic from the front and two sides outside the bus.

With the equipment of specialised cameras, DVRs and software platforms, high solution videos can be captured both inside and outside the city bus while traffic conditions can be detected in advance to avoid accidents.
