Dahua Technology, a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of video surveillance products headquartered in Hangzhou, China introduced its first 4K network camera IPC-HF81200E, marching into UHD (Ultra HD) era.

4K network camera

Actually, 4K is not a new word, especially to the consumer electronics market, and now it has penetrated to video surveillance industry. Defined and approved by International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a 4K camera should offer resolution at 3840 x 2160 with high colour fidelity in a 16:9 format using progressive scanning at 25/30 Hz.

In other words, a 4K camera provides four times the resolution of 1080p, rendering superior image detail and surprisingly exquisite colours, which is ideal for large area monitoring, such as parking lot, railway station, safe city, etc.

Smooth live view and triple streams options

Dahua 4K camera IPC-HF81200E fully complies with the above standard, it adopts 12.0-Megapixel sensor, incorporating with high-performance DSP to provide extraordinary image quality. Meanwhile, the camera offers 12MP (4000 x 3000) at 15 fps and 4K at 30 fps preview with a suggested bandwidth at 8Mbps, ensuring a smooth live view without network resource waste; in addition, the camera provides triple streams options to satisfy various demand in application.

The IPC-HF81200E also supports multi-functions such as ultra-defog, ROI and intelligently detections, including face detections, tripwire, intrusion and scene change, which can smartly send alerts to end-users when any suspicious incident or behavior detected.

Two-fold benefits

For example, there are two-fold benefits to set an intrusion area at a gas station entrance: on one hand, stuff can immediately get to the refueling spot and serve the driver as the second he received the triggered alert, which directly increases profit; on the other hand, any hidden dangers such as smoking or phone call can be observed and stopped to further ensure the safety.

"Dahua is among the first manufacturers to introduce a 4K camera, making the UHD surveillance to something real,” said Peter Pan, Product Manager at Dahua Technology. “Next year, we plan to render more selective possibilities to the market so that our customers can have more alternatives and find the right 4K camera to best meet their specific demands, and a high C/P ratio 4K camera will come out in this November.”
