Milestone and Matrox integrate their surveillance technologies
Matrox VDA decoder board
Matrox Graphics Inc. and Milestone Systems announced superior integration between the Matrox VDA-1164 IP Video Decoding Accelerator and the latest Milestone XProtect Corporate, Smart Client and Smart Wall VMS platforms. Designed for large-scale security networks that require live monitoring, the Matrox VDA graphics board set provides hardware-accelerated IP video decoding that completely offloads the host CPU. This allows operators to view and manipulate more video streams simultaneously, while scaling down system requirements. Security 2010 visitors can see this technology in the Milestone booth E6, September 1-3.

"Matrox VDA is easily incorporated and adds tremendous value to XProtect Corporate installations," says Angelo Salvatore, Regional Sales Manager, Milestone Systems Australia. "VDA supports multiple video formats from a variety of IP cameras, encoders, and codecs, and our latest software release make the integration completely transparent to our users. When VDA is present, operators benefit from smooth playback of multiple high-quality streams, while maintaining the same easy-to-manage Milestone interface and functionality they are accustomed to."

"VDA empowers each Smart Client and Smart Wall workstation to decode and display-in native resolution-up to 16 D1, 64 CIF or 4 720p video streams at full 30fps, without sacrificing system performance or video fidelity," says Helgi Sigurdsson, Product Manager - IP Security Solutions, Matrox Graphics. "Security installations using VDA actually require less equipment, lowering power consumption, heat and noise generation, as well as IT costs."
