ONVIF first meeting for members receives high interest from the industry |
ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) welcomes 18 new member companies into the forum. Joining the forum allows organizations to actively take part in the specification development. Various classes of membership are available to accommodate individual levels of participation. ONVIF announces that Cieffe S.p.A (a March Networks Company), Hikvision Digital Technology, IndigoVision Ltd and Panasonic Corporation System Solutions Company have joined the forum as ‘Full Members'. "The resources and experience that the new members bring to ONVIF are a great asset and we look forward to working together to establish a global standard for network video products," says Jonas Andersson, Chairman of ONVIF's Steering Committee. "Based on the response we have experienced so far, we expect our member base to grow quickly within the next months."
ONVIF's first member meeting and open house, held December 3-4 in Washington D.C., received great interest from the industry. 93 participants from over 60 companies participated at the event. The main focus of the meeting was the presentation of the 1.0 version of the ONVIF core specification which included a detailed walkthrough of the specification. Attendees also received an overview about the forum's organization, activities and membership possibilities.

Specifications for automatic code generation of application interfaces are also available. The forum and its members will further develop the ONVIF specifications.
