Aviva Stadium
The Aviva Stadium build began in May 2007 and was completed in May 2010 costing a total of €410 million. The Aviva Stadium has a seated capacity of 50,000 and provides superb facilities for spectators, players, media and staff. The mission of the Aviva Stadium is to run a world class international stadium, which is an outstanding venue for football, rugby, concerts and conference business, and which provides a top class experience for customer, players, coaches, media, commercial partners and staff.
Aviva Stadium’s integrated security solution includes fire detection, CCTV (190+ cameras), access control (CEM AC2000), intruder alarms, fire suppression and disabled toilet alarms. CEM Approved Reseller, ADT Dublin selected CEM’s AC2000 system to secure the Aviva Stadium.
The AC2000 security management system is ideal for large sites such as Aviva Stadium. It offers powerful access control, alarm processing, photo badging and integration with third party systems. CEM AC2000 provides a reliable and scalable access control and security management system. This solution helps protect staff, viewing public, athletes and performers at the Aviva Stadium while providing a fully future proof security system. Aviva Stadium took full advantage of AC2000 software applications such as VIPPS ID badging and Alarm Event Display (AED).
Solution
AC2000 VIPPS
AC2000 VIPPS (Visual Imaging and Pass Production System) provides security personnel at the Aviva Stadium with a range of video imaging facilities for capturing personnel details, including images, company logos and personnel signatures and incorporates these onto professionally designed ID passes. Using the user friendly AC2000 pass design module, security staff can easily design and print their own access control passes.

AC2000 AED (Alarm Event Display)
AC2000 AED transmits real-time information on all alarms and events that occur on the AC2000 System. AC2000 AED responds to all alarm situations in real time, providing a dynamic on-screen interface to reader and camera footage. Via the AED application security personnel can quickly respond to alarm events and view footage. The easy to use interface allows administrators to process alarms and integrated CCTV efficiently.
CEM Hardware
The Aviva Stadium required a solution which would minimise the amount of cabling required and take advantage of the IT network which was planned for the site. Using the eDCM300 Intelligent two Door Controller, with AC2000, CEM was able to meet this requirement.
Over 70 eDCM300 IP controllers were installed throughout Aviva Stadium. The eDCM 300 is a low cost, two-door controller designed to interface third party read heads with CEM AC2000. This intelligent CEM hardware is easy to install, utilises the Ethernet network and gives full off-line validation and decision making capability at the point of entry when host communication is not available.
New developments
Since the original installation the security solution has continued to grow and there have been several new developments such as turnstile access for stewards, single door additions and one shot process for remote access. CEM will continue to work with ADT and Aviva Stadium to ensure all security needs are met.
“AC2000 VIPPS provides Aviva Stadium with a cost effective method of producing both permanent and reusable temporary passes.”
