After the series production start of two IP Fixed Box Camera models with CMOS sensors in April, Basler has now initiated series production of another CMOS camera model and also two IP dome camera models with CCD sensors.

The latest CMOS box camera model, the BIP2-1920c-dn, provides 1080p Full HD resolution and a frame rate of up to 30 fps at an attractive price. In addition, CMOS sensors feature a number of advantages regarding image quality, such as the almost complete lack of smearing effects, i.e., stripes in the image caused by an extremely bright light source. Blooming, an effect characterized by very bright image structures extending into the darker structures, is also very rare in CMOS sensor cameras compared to CCD sensor models.

The two new dome camera models, the BIP2-D1000c-dn camera and the BIP2-D1300c-dn high definition model, provide real-time video at frame rates of up to 30 fps. With their vandal-resistant aluminium housings and an operating temperature range from -35° C to +50° C
(-31° F to +122° F), Basler IP Fixed Dome Cameras allow video surveillance in outdoor applications and under tough indoor conditions. The cameras are especially energy efficient. All functions, including the fan and heater, can be powered using standard PoE (Power over Ethernet - IEEE 802.3af Class 0).

All Basler IP Camera models support multi-streaming and multi-encoding. They provide up to four image streams using any encoder type combination (MJPEG, MPEG-4, H.264). In addition, Basler IP Cameras offer a choice of two different H.264 compression profiles, one of which is the High Profile (up to level 5) - the same standard used in Blu-ray technology.
