Morse Watchmans demonstrates KeyWatcher Illuminated system at ISC West 2012
Only pre-authorised users can access the tamper-resistant KeyWatcher cabinet

At 2012’s ISC West, Morse Watchmans is demonstrating it’s innovative key control and asset management solutions including the industry-leading KeyWatcher Illuminated system.

The automated system addresses security issues related to the management and control of keys, credit cards and other valuable items that need to be accounted for and secured when not in use. Only pre-authorised users can access the tamper-resistant KeyWatcher cabinet and all transactions are recorded to provide an audit trail of who accessed the system and when.

“A live product demonstration gives a better understanding of the versatility of our KeyWatcher Illuminated system and the value it offers,” said Fernando Pires, VP Sales and Marketing, Morse Watchmans. “Visitors to our ISC West booth will see a highly cost effective and reliable control and management solution and learn how it can improve security in their facility.”

Keys stored in the KeyWatcher module are secured to a Smart Key locking mechanism with a built-in memory chip. Data from the chip is stored when a key is inserted into a key slot. Users can only access keys for which they have an authorised user code, and keys can be returned to any location in the box. Priority email alerts can be sent to security managers to inform them of the whereabouts of Smart Keys.

KeyWatcher systems are engineered for complete interactivity with other business systems, such as access control, to enable a layered security strategy. For example, email alerts can inform management if someone tries to leave a building without returning a key or object taken from the cabinet. The system has a built-in RS-232 communications port for direct connectivity to printers or other devices, or networked connectivity via Ethernet.

Fully scalable, the modular design of KeyWatcher allows users to configure the system to meet the specific needs of their application. In addition to key cabinets, a number of different modules are available, including credit card holders and lockers. Also available is the optional Remote Box, designed to meet special needs of high security environments such as correctional facilities and casinos. Unique in the industry, the Remote Box requires that a second individual’s PIN be entered and verified in the system in order for an authorised employee to access a KeyWatcher cabinet, enabling the cabinet itself to be located in a secured room.
