Video encoders offer a valuable solution to the challenge of migrating analogue CCTV video to IP-Surveillance. Hikvision's DS-6700 series of encoders offer users the flexibility to harmonise features, performance, and cost while never sacrificing video quality for their digital encoding needs.

Adopting the latest embedded processor, this DS-6700 series provides more powerful capability in audio/video encoding, data storage via built-in Micro SD card slot, SATA or network disk, and support of various network protocols (including IPv4/v6, HTTP, HTTPS, QoS layer3, FTP, SMTP, Bonjour, UPnP, etc.) to ensure higher system performance reliability.

The DS-6700 encoder series supports four compression formats - H.264, MPEG-4, MPEG2 and MJPEG. With its dual-encoding capability, it is able to generate any two of these formats simultaneously. This flexibility allows the user to maximise both network and storage resources. Additionally, users can easily access all of its control features using either Hikvision's VMS (Video Management Software) or via a browser. The supported browsers include IE, FireFox, Chrome, and Safari. This encoder series also conforms to PSIA, ONVIF, HIKCGI, and GENETEC standards.

Hikvision's DS-6700 series is designed to include a full line-up of video encoders, with a choice of both 1/4-channel and 8/16-channel models, to meet specific system requirements.
