After the success of the May, 2013 EXIR Analogue Camera series, Hikvision - a global leader in network cameras - is set to launch its new EXIR Network Camera series. This new EXIR series boasts excellent overall image usability, along with the benefits of increased resolution and industry-leading low-light performance.

"As we know, resolution is important, but not everything. Image processing is also crucial. Based on our rich experience in ISP (image signal processing) technology, Hikvision's R&D team continues its pursuit of improved image quality, especially in difficult lighting conditions. Our EXIR Network Camera series is further proof of this goal," said Keen Yao, International Marketing Director at Hikvision.

The new EXIR network camera series is comprised of the DS-2CD2200-I5 EXIR Bullet Camera series and the DS-2CD2300-I EXIR Turret Camera series. Both feature highly-efficient light source and enhanced LED light strength. By employing the most advanced thin-film and light-emitting technology, this series provides up-to 30% more illuminant efficiency over traditional LED array technology.

Furthermore, the EXIR network series even provides a 40% light-extraction rate improvement over traditional models, resulting in stronger light for long-range visibility usage. Specifically, the DS-2CD2200-I5 EXIR Bullet Camera series offers a minimum illumination at 0.01 lux@ F1.2 with AGC on, 0 lux with IR (with up-to a 50m IR range). The DS-2CD2300-I EXIR Turret Camera is slightly different, giving consumers another option. It offers the same minimum illumination, but with up-to a 30m IR range.

To make the most out of IR LED light, the two series both produce LED light in the form of a rectangle to better fit a screen's normal size (4:3 or 16:9). Additionally it helps improve LED utilisation efficiency and reduces light pollution in the surrounding environment. Images are further optimised with EXIR's luminance uniformity functionality. This feature helps to eliminate traditional LED lens issues, such as over-exposure at the centre of images, and darker areas at corners.

Both series are comprised of models with 1.3MP resolution and 3MP resolution, delivering sharp and clear images with the latest 1/3" progressive scan CMOS. Images are further enhanced with a built-in 3D DNR (Digital Noise Reduction), which greatly reduces noise. Additionally, D-WDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range) helps to achieve critical detail in images that include highlights, shadows, and mixed lighting - all without compromising on image quality or colour accuracy.

This new network series also benefits from efficient codec compression (approximately 30% to 50% above traditional network cameras). This significantly reduces the transmission burden for both video information and storage on IP surveillance systems. In addition, IP66 protection, excellent heat dissipation, longer lifespan, and greater energy savings are but a few of the advantages that Hikvision EXIR cameras bring.

Available models:

DS-2CD2212-I5 (1.3MP) / DS-2CD2232-I5 (3.0MP) EXIR Bullet Camera

DS-2CD2312-I (1.3MP) / DS-2CD2332-I (3.0MP) EXIR Turret Camera
