Hikvision is setting new standards for ultra low-light surveillance with the launch of the DS-2CD6026FHWD DarkFighter network camera. This cutting-edge camera utilises Hikvision’s industry-leading, ultra low-light MP lens and is designed specifically to capture sharp colour and monochrome images in extreme, low-light conditions. The result is crystal-clear colour images down to 0.002 Lux and B/W to 0.0002 Lux.

The DarkFighter’s ultra low-light performance delivers full colour images day and night that would defeat conventional monochrome IP cameras and competing low-light cameras. As well as opening up new opportunities for 24-hour CCTV surveillance, it is the ideal replacement for conventional network cameras.

Superior image delivery

The DarkFighter camera features a two-megapixel, 1/2 inch progressive scan CMOS image sensor. Together with a 120dB WDR (wide dynamic range) and Hikvision’s 3D DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) technology, the new camera is able to stream video in full 1080p HD at 60 fps, which results in latency free clear images day and night. A defog feature is also incorporated to noticeably improve image clarity in poor weather conditions, such as rain or fog.

Choice of lens

A choice of wide-angle and telephoto varifocal MP lenses is available (The Hikvision HV1140D-8MPIR MP lens offers focal range 11-40mm, while HV3816D-8MPIR provides another choice of 3.8-16mm), both including IR correction, and ABF (Auto Back Focus) functionality, which allows the camera to adjust positioning of the image sensor to obtain an optimal focus.

The new camera also features an ROI codec, which enables the resolution of specific parts of an image to be increased while decreasing the non-ROI image quality to minimise bandwidth and storage requirements.

With support for ONVIF, PSIA, and CGI standards, the new camera also offers quick and easy integration with other video surveillance equipment and systems, creating the solution that matched different requirements.
