The streamlined Christie FHD551-X is the LCD solution for a wide range of video wall display applications, including control rooms, event production
Christie Phoenix will also feature its Phoenix network distribution system for processing and content management

Christie has established a commanding presence in the development of next-generation control room solutions that deliver the ultimate in high performance wall displays, content management and data security. Among its latest solutions at the AFCEA TechNet Asia-Pacific Conference and Expo in Honolulu, Hawaii, December 3 – 5, Christie will showcase its Christie Entero HB video wall display cubes along with the new Thinklogical VelocityDV1 3 direct fibre optic input card. The Thinklogical VelocityDVI 3 Direct Fibre-Optic Input Card installs directly into the Christie Entero HB cube, providing fibre-optic video signal extension capability at 6.25 Gbps bandwidth without the use of external receivers, power supplies and copper cabling, resulting in fewer points of failure and simpler, cleaner installations.

Co-developed with Thinklogical, a leading manufacturer and provider of fibre optic KVM, video, audio, and peripheral extension and switching solutions used in video-rich big data computing environments, the Thinklogical DV1 3 strengthens Christie’s leadership in the control room market and expands the company’s diverse solutions for government, security and surveillance, utilities, public and emergency services.

"Integrating Thinklogical's fibre-optic extension and switching systems with Christie's advanced display technology offers customers lower cost of ownership through ease of installation, increased security and higher performance," said Larry Wachter, Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing, Thinklogical. "This joint development with Christie enhances our ability to address customer requirements for high-performance visual computing solutions for command and control environments in multiple industries worldwide. We look forward to creating additional integrated fibre-optic solutions for other Christie display products.”

Christie will feature a 1 by 2 array of Christie Entero HB SXGA+ 80” cubes, a 55-inch Christie FHD551-X LCD flat panel and the Christie Phoenix network distribution system for processing and content management.

High Brightness Meets High Security

The Thinklogical Velocity DVI 3 direct fibre optic input card is a highly secure extension solution that eliminates the need for an external receiver and power supply, as well as the DVI cable normally used to connect the receiver to the display. Since additional copper cabling between the video source and the cube are no longer necessary, the card also increases data security by eliminating the electromagnetic emanations generated by copper cabling. It offers customers lower cost of ownership through ease of installation, increased security and higher performance.

"Integrating Thinklogical's fibre-optic extension and switching systems with Christie's advanced display technology offers customers lower cost of ownership through ease of installation"

“This co-developed fibre optic input card installs directly into Christie Entero HB video wall display cubes, making it ideal for government installations and command and control environments where data security and sharp, high resolution content is critical,” noted Jim Gavloski, director, Product Management, Control Room and Video Wall Displays at Christie. “Christie’s collaboration with Thinklogical is part of our continuing strategy to provide the highest-performing, most comprehensive line of control room solutions to our customers.”

Flat Out Superior Colour in the Christie FHD551-X

The streamlined Christie FHD551-X is the LCD solution for a wide range of video wall display applications, including control rooms, event production and out-of-home signage. It is significantly thinner than traditional LCD displays, yet packs a full array of industry-leading specification that include full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080), virtually seamless borders, and energy efficient LED backlighting. The Christie FHD551-X is a high-performance, affordably priced flat panel, with controlled brightness and wide viewing angles that make it ideal for high trafficked indoor applications with irregular ambient lighting. It is a durable and reliable solution for demanding display applications on a budget.

Rising Above the Competition

Driving the content at Christie booth #611 will be the Christie Phoenix, a network distributed open content management system. A true game changer in the industry that breaks through the physical walls of the control room to encompass a global workplace, the Christie Phoenix can simultaneously encode, decode and display audio-visual data securely from anywhere, at any time, via standard IP networking technology. Setting a new standard for content mobility, the Christie Phoenix allows the same information to be presented in the same format simultaneously to all users, regardless of their location.
