Power over Ethernet (PoE) enabled IP cameras or other IP devices are rapidly becoming industry standard in the security market due to their simple installation and cost savings.

The PoE technology allows the IP data and power to be delivered over the same UTP cable. The IP cameras or devices don't need an additional AC power point. They can be placed in virtually any location, such as ceilings, without requiring a power-point at the location. It eliminates the need for additional and often expensive power cables and conduits, resulting in system cost savings. The PoE feature allows installers to create a centralized-power design for the surveillance system using PoE enabled IP cameras and devices.

To utilise the many PoE advantages, OTS now offers a complete and comprehensive series of unmanaged PoE Ethernet switches. The unmanaged switch provides a simple, plug-and-play installation without user configuration. Depending on the models, the series offers 30W power output (IEEE 802.3af/at) which is sufficient for most power-hungry devices like pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) IP cameras.

Benefits

  • Plug-and-play function
  • Easy and flexible network installation and expansion
  • Eliminates power cabling and laying conduits
  • Centralised power system and backup

With OTS comprehensive range of un-managed PoE switch products, one or all of them will be a perfect match for users’ surveillance requirements and applications.
