Since the deployment, the community association has been pleased with the supreme clarity and night visibility of the camera
In order to significantly reduce chances of confusion, deploying a good traffic camera is extremely crucial

The association of a quiet residential community in Palm Harbor, Miami was looking to install a surveillance camera at the main intersection to monitor traffic exiting the neighbourhood, as a part of its security improvement project. The camera must capture clear traffic particulars, especially the license plate, car make and model, as they would become valuable information should any incident occur.

State license plates pose challenges for traffic surveillance

The state of Florida requires only rear license plates placed on automobiles, thus it would need a high-performance camera capable of capturing traffic details given the limited viewpoint. The camera angle and positioning are critical factors determining the image quality as well in dealing with rear plates.

Another challenge is that there are currently more than 110 specialty license plates with various designs for vehicle owners to choose from in Florida, which inevitably complicate monitoring and plate recognition. In order to significantly reduce chances of confusion, deploying a good traffic camera is extremely crucial.

MESSOA traffic camera recommended as a cost-effective security measure

With extensive knowledge in traffic surveillance and success from the past, MESSOA's local SI partner KPP recommended the SCR515PRO, the high-resolution day/night traffic camera specifically designed to capture both overviews of vehicles and license plates.

Powered by the proprietary CatchAll™ and Lumii™ intelligent imaging technologies, the SCR515PRO offers enhanced 24/7 traffic surveillance capabilities that filter external noises to avoid confusion and only keep details that matter the most.

Camera easy to install and operate

The SCR515PRO was strategically installed 8ft (2.5m) high on an existing light pole with the MESSOA's mount bracket facing the 4-way-stop intersection to give a high-resolution view of the outbound traffic. The camera was connected to an Openeye DVR for back-end video management.

Since the deployment, the community association has been pleased with the supreme clarity and night visibility the SCR515PRO delivers as advertised. The association owner was also delighted to be able to save some money without having to spend another pole for the installation.
