CAMSWITCH QUAD accepts 10-40V DC or 20-28V AC input range with polarity detection to prevent wiring errors
Veracity's CAMSWITCH QUAD provides network connection and PoE for bus, truck and rail installations

Veracity, a leading manufacturer of products which help support IP surveillance solutions, has gained EC Automotive Directive approval (E-Mark) for its CAMSWITCH QUAD PoE switch, making it suitable for all transport installations.  The unit offers end-users ‘Mobile PoE', accommodates all classes of PoE (0-3) and provides network and PoE power connections for up to four IP surveillance cameras with a maximum of 30 watts of PoE power across all four ports, or a maximum of 15 watts for a single port.

CAMSWITCH QUAD accepts 10-40V DC or 20-28V AC input range with polarity detection to prevent wiring errors and screw terminals to simplify power installation to the unit.  The compact unit measures 110mm across and features a rugged casing which is easy to mount and secure, making it suitable for harsh installation environments.

It accommodates all Ethernet rates up to 100BaseT, with indicator lights showing whether the unit has Ethernet connection and if there is network traffic.  The unit displays lights indicating if PoE has been enabled; whether there is insufficient power for the connected device(s); or if no power has been requested by the IP camera.

Veracity's CAMSWITCH QUAD is ideally suited to provide network connection and PoE for bus, truck and rail installations, and eliminates the need for separate power connections for each installed IP camera, saving cost and installation time.

Video surveillance installations in transport applications have become more commonplace, with the transportation video surveillance market set to increase by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11% over the next three years and the global market set to reach $1.9 billion by 2015, according to analyst BCC Research.

Alastair McLeod, managing director, Veracity UK Ltd, commented:

"IP camera systems for transport applications are making big inroads across the globe, and as a company we see particular growth from European bus operators who are investing heavily in IP camera systems.  Our CAMSWITCH QUAD makes it very easy for installers to provide ‘Mobile PoE' and network connection to up to four IP cameras. As with all Veracity products, CAMSWITCH QUAD is designed to make the installer's job much easier."
