SALTO Systems shows off Access Control at IFSEC 2009
Salto systems provides best access control flexibity

SALTO Systems reports this year's IFSEC show was its best ever with a substantially greater increase in top quality visitors to its stand, generating high level end user enquiries and other quality new business leads.

Concentrating the entire stand on the launch of the new SALTO wireless access control system paid dividends for the company. Great interest was shown in the new product, which combines the efficiency of both on-line and off-line applications in a single system and provides real-time communication with state-of-the-art SALTO stand alone battery powered escutcheons that simplify security management and provide unrivalled levels of access control flexibility.

Any number of doors can be equipped with the new wireless system at much lower cost than a conventional wired access control solution and the system is so efficient that battery power consumption is close to that of SALTO's standard battery powered electronic escutcheons.

The system uses AES128 bits encrypted radio frequency communication based on IEEE 802.15.4 at 2,4Ghz to transfer information from escutcheons to the PC through strategically located gateways and repeaters. These then act as antennas, collecting and sending information from the PC to the stand alone wireless locks. One gateway can manage several repeaters and electronic escutcheons, minimizing infrastructure costs and maximizing flexibility.

"In my opinion" says Marc Handels, Global VP of Sales and Marketing at SALTO Systems, "IFSEC 2009 surpassed all our expectations for the event, especially given the global economic climate, enabling us to launch our new wireless product to great acclaim and establish and develop relationships with both new and existing customers and spread awareness of the SALTO brand to a truly international audience."
