Moxa, a global provider of communication infrastructure solutions supporting the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), announced the next generation of its MXstudio® network management software suite. The new MXstudio V2.1 helps drive down industrial network infrastructure costs and increase uptime through simplified network installation and configuration, intuitive and visualised network management and maintenance and quick troubleshooting capabilities.

"With the trend towards connected devices and the Industrial Internet of Things, it's more critical than ever for engineers to have tools that make it easy to configure, maintain, manage and troubleshoot their communications infrastructure," said Richard Wood, Product Marketing Manager. "The latest version of MXstudio allows engineers to visualise even the most intricate network infrastructure, giving them comprehensive real-time information about the status and health of their networks”.

MXstudio has been successfully deployed in industrial networks worldwide to automatically detect network devices, provide real-time availability monitoring, display topological representation of networks, generate event logs, and even provide virtual panel displays to indicate real-time status of device ports. Existing users will be able to upgrade to V2.1 for free. A fully operational trial version is also available for free download, and it includes a demo network so the functions can be tested without requiring live connections.

NEW V2.1 features

Consistent with Moxa's development approach, the V2.1 upgrade helps customers succeed through improved quality and decreased total cost of ownership. Key to the upgrade is a new Traffic Load Visualisation tool that lets engineers easily identify where network traffic issues are occurring in real-time to achieve optimisation goals in traffic engineering and to enhance the performance of IP traffic while utilising network resources economically and reliably.

The release of MXstudio 2.1 also expands device configuration capabilities and simplifies the process of large scale implementations, reducing device configuration time by up to 90%. It also increases troubleshooting capabilities by allowing engineers to see multiple "snapshots" of their networks in order to more quickly diagnose network problems.

Along with supporting the full range of Moxa's best-of-breed networking products, MXstudio also features an MIB compiler with basic SNMP support for third-party devices to help users deploy a full edge-to-core multi-vendor network infrastructure. Moxa is one of the most trusted brands in the automation industry, offering its broad range of innovative and highly reliable switches, along with devices for wireless, data acquisition, surveillance and connectivity that interconnect all aspects of network environments.
