Sony Professional, a division of Sony United Kingdom Limited, is delighted that MK Dons FC chose a cutting edge network video monitoring system for their new high quality stadium. The highly innovative, reliable and scalable system will enable MK Dons to meet UEFA standards for safety and security while retaining the flexibility to expand the system as the venue grows.
"We selected Sony for its high quality, reliable and innovative network video monitoring solutions. We now have an easy to use and highly scalable system in place that we can rapidly expand when necessary," commented Sue Dawson, Executive Director at MK Dons.
Pete Winkelman, the successful music entrepreneur who conceived the innovative stadium and provided a lifeline to homeless Wimbledon FC through their move to Milton Keynes, was keen to create a top quality venue that would attract major events as well as host the MK Dons football club.
The venue was designed by world renowned architects, HOK Sport - responsible for the widely celebrated Arsenal Emirates, Wembley Stadium and Sydney Games venues - who created a scalable stadium that could be expanded from 21,000 seats to 31,000 seats when required and will include a hotel, conference and banqueting facilities and an indoor arena of up to 5,000 capacity. In order to meet UEFA standards, the stadium also had to have the appropriate safety and security infrastructure to monitor and control crowds effectively.
The system includes 26 x SNC-RX550 and 4 x RZ25P network video cameras - all of which can be managed centrally via an IP network from a PC web browser.
