Alert Services, the independent ARC division of Securitas, is encouraging security planners to make more use of the latest monitoring technology, with the introduction of new, low cost personnel protection, vehicle- and asset-tracking services.

"With our latest communications and trace-and-track techniques we can make it much easier for organisations to keep a watch on their premises, assets and people," says Bob Marston-Taylor, Alert's manager in the UK.

"We have pioneered a number of dedicated tracking solutions through our Europe-wide ARC network and, based on their success, we are now extending the same services to our UK monitoring operation."

Examples of new services include the ability of organisations to simply add track-and-trace technology to fleet vehicles and high-value assets such as equipment and freight.

"In France we have recently helped a major freight company overcome insurance problems following a series of losses by equipping all vehicles with a combined tracking and monitored CCTV system.  This is an advanced solution for a high-risk customer  - but the same sort of technology can be offered to all levels of customer to help reduce vulnerability.  Our ARCs can now do so much more than monitor intruder alarms."

Alert Services says it is already working with a number of UK security companies and customers to develop solutions using the new technology.
