Pelco by Schneider Electric is pleased to announce the introduction of its new Digital Sentry hardware platform. After receiving a complete makeover, at the core of the new Digital Sentry is a brand new Network Video Recorder powered with the latest processor and on-board graphics technologies.

The new NVR comes preloaded with DS NVs Network Video Management Software and delivers 280 Mbps bandwidth for recording and viewing as many as 128 Pelco and third-party IP cameras. Analogue cameras on the network are supported using encoders from Pelco or from a number of 3rd party vendors. For DVR replacements, the new system can be deployed as a hybrid with optional support for up to 64 direct-attached analogue cameras at D1, full-frame rate recording. And with the new front-accessible, removable hard disk drives and an engineered cooling system to sustain increased performance, the DS SRV provides built-in reliability customers can trust.

With support of the Pelco Partner First program, Digital Sentry is a powerful integration platform for access control and other security-related applications. Open architecture is supported with ONVIF compliance and a large number of IP-specific drivers for third-party IP cameras and encoders. With no certification required, the simplified Digital Sentry line replaces all previous DS hardware offerings, making the product easier to configure, order, and support.

Previous and new customers alike will benefit from the intuitive operation and open architecture. With expected availability in late 2011, the New Digital Sentry arrives on the scene-Simplified, optimised, and more powerful than ever.
