Aperio is a global, wireless platform that connects additional openings to an existing electronic access control system

ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, is a proud recipient of the 2013 BOM Top Products Award for its Aperio™ wireless lock technology.

Award winners were 100% reader selected, by building and facility executives who participated in a national survey. Aperio was chosen from amongst 560 other products that were contestants in the survey.

“ASSA ABLOY is honoured to receive the 2013 Top Products Award for our Aperio technology,” said Peter Boriskin, Director of Product Management – Electronic Access Control, for ASSA ABLOY Americas. “It is very exciting that a security technology such as Aperio, which is available across a wide range of ASSA ABLOY locking hardware, is individually highlighted and noted for its innovation in expanding access control systems to such an array of applications.”

Aperio is a global, wireless platform that provides an easy, affordable way to connect additional openings to an existing electronic access control system. It uses wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) between the lock and an Aperio hub to provide real-time communication to the access control system. This simplifies installation, reducing costs and complexity compared to traditional access control.

Designed for effective operation and quick, easy wireless deployment, the Aperio range includes Adams Rite A100 keyless entry control for aluminum and glass storefront doors, HES K100 cabinet locks, Medeco M100 eCylinders, and SARGENT IN100 and PR100 commercial and institutional locks. With real-time authentication and alarms, Aperio uses AES 128-bit wireless encryption and supports HID® 125 kHz prox or 13.56 MHz iCLASS® credentials.
