ASSA ABLOY’s technology Aperio was named Integrated Security Product of the Year at the IFSEC Security Industry Awards.

ASSA ABLOY's Aperio™ enables OEM and security installer specialists to offer a cost effective and simple security

The award winning Aperio™ technology from ASSA ABLOY, enables OEM and security installer specialists to offer a cost effective and simple security upgrade via a wireless integration of mechanical locks into existing access control systems or for new installations, as part of a hybrid EAC system.

Ideal for Facility or Security Managers experiencing costly and time-consuming key control problems, Aperio™ has been designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them to existing online access control systems, with minimal modification to doors and premises.

This provides end users in a variety of markets with a simple and intelligent way of upgrading the controllability and security level of their premises.

And with its evolving connectivity and developments in RFID technology, Aperio™ has the capability to connect with almost any online access control system in the marketplace, bringing the benefits of an online access control system to additional doors at far less cost than traditionally possible.

Commenting on ASSA ABLOY's award success, Chris Bone, ASSA ABLOY Vice President Access Control EMEA, said: "As a group, we are extremely proud to have won this award for Aperio™, but credit must be given to our OEM partners for integrating this technology within their system and promoting its exclusive features and benefits through their own installers."

"It is only because of this, that Aperio™ continues to evolve and play such a major part in the security industry."

"Working closely with all of our partners and their customer's right from initial design concepts is critical to our success, as it enables both us, and our partners to provide end users with a locking technology that meet both their budgetary and security requirements. Aperio™ makes it possible for end users to move to a cost effective fully keyless solution for existing or new installations, something that was only a dream a few years ago."

"ASSA ABLOY is committed to providing innovative integrated security solutions, which includes the award winning Aperio™ range to build on the initial success range of products. Working closely with our partners is central to our business philosophy to develop further opportunities on a global scale and in the coming months we will bring many exciting new developments to the Aperio."

The awards, run in association with the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), were presented at a gala ceremony during the week of IFSEC and recognise products and technological advancements that have played a major part in the security industry over the past 12 months.

The award winning Aperio™ has been designed to work with a wide range of lockcases and cylinders.
