In addition to delivering lower bandwidth and storage requirements the cameras decrease costs
The KLGCC video surveillance system incorporates Arecont Vision megapixel cameras for better image quality

In a lush hilltop setting in an affluent suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 1.3 and 3 megapixel video cameras from Arecont Vision provide surveillance at the expansive Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC). The club, which offers a choice of two 18-hole courses, is the site of numerous international championships and hosts more than 100,000 rounds of golf a year. The KLGCC video surveillance system incorporates Arecont Vision megapixel cameras to provide better image quality, greater system efficiencies and advanced functionality.

"Because megapixel imaging delivers significant improvements in image resolution and performance compared to standard-resolution cameras, an outdoor installation of this magnitude was a great fit for Arecont Vision," said Becky Zhou, Asia Pacific Sales Director, Arecont Vision. "In addition to delivering lower bandwidth and storage requirements, Arecont Vision megapixel cameras dramatically decrease costs related to other elements of a system because fewer cameras are needed."

KLGCC uses the Arecont Vision AV1355, a 1.3 megapixel MegaDome- H.264 network IP camera providing 1280x1024-pixel images at 32 frames per second. The camera incorporates H.264 (MPEG-4, Part 10) compression to minimise bandwidth and storage requirements while maintaining high-quality images. The 3 megapixel camera used at KLGCC is the Arecont Vision AV3105 Day/Night camera providing 2048x1536-pixel images at 15 frames per second and H.264 compression. Protecting outdoor cameras from the elements are Arecont Vision HSG1 environmental housings.

"With such a challenging installation, Arecont Vision was our first choice," said Syed Baba bin Mohd Gous, Business Development Manager of Sensorlink Sdn. Bhd., Kuala Lumpur, who designed the new system. "End users have become very savvy when evaluating imaging technology. They come to the table with expectations for high quality and low price points. Arecont Vision's megapixel solutions meet those expectations and deliver the highest return on investment."
