Manchester Security 2014 aims to educate local businesses about security challenges
The event aims to educate and inform local businesses from across the North West

Manchester’s annual security event is set to celebrate its twentieth anniversary with a return to The Bridgewater Hall next week, with delegate places still available to book, free of charge.

Organised by the British Security Industry Association – the trade association representing the UK’s private security industry – in partnership with Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Centre Crime Prevention Panel, the event aims to explore new and innovative methods of providing business security and community safety.

Themed as ‘Manchester 2014: Celebrating 20 Years’, the event aims to educate and inform local businesses from across the North West, bringing them together with local Police forces to facilitate discussion of the security challenges faced by the region, and the solutions on hand to combat such issues as crime and anti-social behaviour.

Free to attend for delegates, the event will take place on Thursday 6th March 2014 at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester city centre, and features a presentation by Tony Lloyd, Police and Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester.

Also speaking at the event will be Chief Superintendent Nick Adderley, of Greater Manchester Police, discussing the challenges and changes facing the Greater Manchester force. Maxine Fraser, National Operations Director of Retailers Against Crime, will also be providing an overview of the organisation’s successes in reducing crime through partnership working.

The event will include a comprehensive exhibition, enabling delegates to see first-hand the innovative range of products and services to delegates from a range of end-user businesses. Last year’s event attracted a record number of over 300 delegates, with attendees including representatives of well-known city-centre retailers Primark, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Urban Outfitters, as well as other organisations including insurers, healthcare practitioners and local authorities.

With more than 200 delegates already pre-registered to attend, this year’s event looks set to be as popular as ever.
