| Bosch to offer free iPad on selected bundles of its content-based imaging-equipped HD cameras |
In the month following “Security Essen”, Bosch Security Systems will be re-warding customers who upgrade to some of its high-definition products on display. Visitors to the trade fair can collect a voucher entitling them to a free iPad if they order selected bundles combining the latest innovations from Bosch on Content Based Imaging-equipped HD cameras and Dynamic Transcoding Technology by October 26, 2012.
Nowadays it is becoming increasingly important to be able to view security recordings from anywhere, due to higher safety requirements. At the same time, the demands on image quality are also rising, with high definition (HD) now being standard for almost every application. Content Based Imaging Technology (CBIT) from Bosch enables operators to utilise HD cameras in even the most challenging lighting conditions. This technology makes use of the analysis data of the Intelligent Video analytics (IVA) module to dynamically tune the image processing, boosting image performance to unprecedented levels. CBIT is available on the new 720p and 1080p High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging platforms from Bosch.
However, when reviewing high-quality scenes remotely, the user is dependent on the speed of the internet connection, such that HD-quality material is invariably buffered. The solution to this problem is the Dynamic Transcoding Technology from Bosch, a behind-the-scenes process that changes a video file to a different format or bitrate without compromising on the original image quality.
Bosch Security Systems is displaying this technology for the first time at “Security Essen 2012”, where visitors to the company’s booth will be able to see the new solution in action. “The consumer world has already switched completely to HD,” explained Gerard Otterspeer, Product Marketing Manager at Bosch Security Systems. “Now we’re enabling the security market to do the same!”
Dynamic Transcoding Technology also enables clear HD images when the video is paused, such that no detail is missed and making it easier to identify people and situations. “Because it allows high definition with low bandwidth connections, transcoding is ideal, for example, for shop owners wanting to monitor their store from home with a tablet,” added Otterspeer.
