CAG installed AutoDome and FlexiDome cameras, Praesideo Public Address Systems and the BIS
To keep security systems in place Changi Airport installed Bosch cameras and PA systems

To enable faster response to emergencies and to allow better control of the security and communication systems in place, Singapore Changi Airport sought a reliable partner to modernise its existing infra-structure. The operator, Changi Airport Group (CAG), specifically required public address and video surveillance systems across different terminals and zones. With AutoDome and FlexiDome cameras, Praesideo Public Address Systems and the Building Integration System (BIS) from Bosch, CAG managed to achieve this objective.

Safety first

Changi Airport is the seventh busiest international airport in the world, offering flights to more than 200 cities in over 60 countries. This important Asian transportation hub is used by more than 46 million passengers every year. In order to guarantee smooth operations and monitor the day-to-day activities on the ground, CAG works with a range of partners, such as ground handlers, airport auxiliary police and government agencies.

One of the main requirements for the new technology CAG wanted to introduce was that different devices could be interconnected across terminals for all the partners involved. As the airport is in full operation around the clock, a further condition was that the installation of the new system had to take place without disturbing passengers any more than necessary.

High security standards across all terminals and zones

To simultaneously address all these conditions, CAG purchased AutoDome and FlexiDome cameras from Bosch, which were able to be interconnected with various third party video systems at Changi Airport Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Public address systems from the Praesideo Series were also installed at Terminals 1 and 2. The fourth terminal, Changi Airport Budget Terminal, required a complete integration of the video surveillance system with an Access Control System for normal and high-security restricted areas. To meet this challenge, CAG chose the Building Integration System (BIS) from Bosch. BIS is a modular platform that combines different building management functions in one single solution. Furthermore, it responds flexibly to the unique building management requirements of the particular end-user.
