City of Surrey requires command post video
Having outgrown its converted recreational vehicle command centre, the City of Surrey turned to ITB—Western Canada’s leading custom truck, trailer and enclosure builder—for an advanced mobile command post that would meet the needs of the growing municipality. The city required a purpose-built vehicle for use in emergencies, at crime scenes, fire sites and at public-facing events. Video capabilities are necessary to provide overhead surveillance of local areas when the command post is in use.
Problem: command post needs surveillance video
- Teams using mobile command post will often require video surveillance of the location
- Clear and stable images are necessary at all times, even when the mast is raised to its fullest extent
- Cameras must be tough enough to withstand branch impacts from trees overhanging roadways throughout the city
Solution: MIC Series mounted on a pneumatic will-burt mast
- Bosch ruggedised PTZ camera delivers full 360-degree continuous rotation pan and 320-degree tilt control to help operators capture every area of a scene
- Camera is mounted on an eight foot Will-Burt mast that can be extended to 30 feet
- IP 68-rated aluminum casing provides protection from the elements as well as physical damage from trees when the command post is en route to a location
Results: most advanced command trailer in Western Canada
- Professional trailer provides a mobile command post, complete with video surveillance capabilities, for the growing city of Surrey
- Specially designed, internally-wired camera mast provides flexibility for future technology additions
- Image stabilisation reduces camera shake for exceptional video clarity, even when the camera is zoomed in
