The Magna Lecture Theater in the Roma Tre University, Rome, is a modern, elegantly-styled venue. Located in the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy, it hosts important lectures and conferences. The only problem it had was sound coverage, which can often be a challenge when fine architecture and acoustics come together. The solution was to completely change the sound system for a new innovative system designed specifically to meet this challenge. The choice for this: Bosch Security Systems.
One of the reasons for choosing Bosch is the earlier successful installation of the company's Public Address and CCTV systems on the campus.
Hemi-directional loudspeaker from Bosch
The new sound system is based around Bosch's Hemi-directional Loudspeaker. Embodying an innovative acoustic design using 14 specially positioned speaker drivers combined with advanced filtering, it provides an extremely large opening angle for the whole frequency range. The result is consistent, high-quality sound reproduction over the whole coverage area.
The new installation resolved the innumerable coverage problems that plagued the previous system, installed by traditional methods. It has also been highly praised for its installation simplicity, its unpretentious esthetics and ease of integration with the existing equipment within the Magna Lecture Theater. The new sound system was installed by S.E.A. snc Sistemi Elettrici Avanzati Roma.
The Roma Tre University, with 870 lecturers and 40 000 students, offers a wide range of faculties such as architecture, economics, law, engineering, humanities, education sciences, mathematics and political sciences. Now its lecture theater has a perfectly integrated and truly state-of-the-art sound system in which lecturers can be clearly heard in every part of the theater.
