The System was installed by Schneider Electric
The installation includes video analytics, advanced auto camera tracking and PureActiv geospatial command and control

PureTech Systems, specialising in geospatial video surveillance software, recently announced the completed installation of its PureActiv system at the Cypress Water Treatment facility. The facility, located in the city of Wichita Falls, TX is the result of a $50 million dollar construction project which boasts state of the art water treatment and purification technologies. The PureActiv system was installed by Schneider Electric, with the objective of protecting the perimeter and critical assets of this multi-million dollar facility. The installation includes video analytics, advanced auto camera tracking and the PureActiv geospatial (map-based) command and control.

The city of Wichita Falls, located in north Texas, has a population of over 100,000 people. The water purification facilities are capable of treating a maximum of 54 million gallons daily and serve about 121,000 people. The Cypress project incorporated new construction of Raw Water Treatment Facilities including a Flow Control Vault, Membrane Clarifier, Micro filtration and Reverse Osmosis Filtering System, Pump Stations and Piping. The ability to maintain a secure water supply for its customers is critical to its mission, as such, the city included protection of the facilities' perimeters and assets as a key component to project.

"This facility is extremely important to the City of Wichita Falls and the surrounding communities," explained Mark Southard, Water Source/Purification Superintendent with the City of Wichita Falls. "It is integral in helping us protect and preserve our valuable water resource. The selection of the PureActiv system was made to help insure the continued protection of this facility and insure its operation. This was a significant undertaking, but the result is a very successful project."

The system protecting the Cypress facility represents the latest in surveillance technology. PureActiv's map based command and control will provide a user friendly situational awareness that allows the ability to control sensors and view intrusion details directly on a map of the facility. The installation also includes geospatial video analytic capabilities, providing both intruder detection and subsequent auto camera tracking via PTZ cameras. PureTech Systems' President, Larry Bowe, said "Protecting critical resources and assets is the reason our company exists today. Being able to provide our PureActiv product on projects, such as this one, is truly a rewarding experience for the entire PureTech team." The installation encompasses both fixed and PTZ cameras and includes perimeter and critical asset monitoring.
