OnSSI’s Ocularis-X server software enables mobile clients to access live and playback HD videos
OnSSI demonstrates its Ocularis-X server software at ISC West

OnSSI introduces the Ocularis-X server software, which enables web and mobile clients to access live and playback HD video streams from multiple megapixel cameras over limited bandwidth networks such as 3G/4G, broadband and the Internet.

OnSSI’s new technology eliminates the need for compromises related to the number of camera streams displayed, picture quality or the smoothness of the video. All video streams are sent to users at their original high frame rate. Users are presented with much smoother video and are able to zoom into an image without losing detail, resulting in superior detection of incidents and identification of culprits.

Ocularis-X extends the look-and-feel of the award-winning Ocularis Client desktop interface to web browsers and mobile devices operating in low-bandwidth networks. It enables users to perform live monitoring and synchronised playback of multiple megapixel cameras. Compatible with all recent versions of Ocularis, Ocularis-X will also allow VSaaS (Video Surveillance as a Service) providers to deliver high-speed, high-resolution, multi-camera video to their clients.

“Security personnel who are mobile or away from their premises can now access multiple megapixel cameras in full frame rate, simultaneously, using a standard web browser,” said Gadi Piran, President and CTO, OnSSI. “Ocularis-X is truly a breakthrough in video delivery that accommodates the needs of the two biggest trends in the video surveillance market – higher-resolution cameras and Web-based monitoring. Now the two can co-exist in a fully functioning system.”

At OnSSI's ISC West booth (#21049), two side-by-side monitors will enable visitors to compare the image quality and the ease of operation of a system showing on-site HD cameras connected to an Ocularis desktop client, with a system using Ocularis-X to supply HD video from a remote site over the Internet. The demonstration will illustrate how the Ocularis Web Client, powered by Ocularis-X, provides a similar look, feel and ease-of-use as the familiar Ocularis desktop client.
