Scallop Imaging, the market innovator in high resolution, panoramic video cameras, and On-Net Security Surveillance Systems, Inc. (OnSSI), the market leader in open-architecture, intelligent IP-based video surveillance software, announced the integration of Scallop Imaging's D7-180 camera with OnSSI's Ocularis video management system (VMS). The Scallop Imaging D7-180 camera features seven megapixel resolution and a 180 degree field of view, along with PoE and H.264 compression. OnSSI's non-proprietary software platform now enables users to leverage the capabilities of the D7-180 camera as part of a networked video system to record and manage digital video.

Scallop Imaging's D7-180 seven megapixel digital camera distributes the imaging task across multiple, small image sensors, processing over 100 megapixels per second to calibrate, synchronize and merge video in real time. The result is two simultaneous video streams: a 720p HD stream composed of a true 180 degree, non-fisheye, situational awareness view at 15 frames per second, and up to four instantly repositionable zoom windows at full pixel resolution at 15 fps; and a full resolution (5120x1280 pixels) video stream at one fps.

OnSSI simplifies the overall security process with intuitive software that manages events, not simply records them, and provides real alerts. In an everyday sense, this means that operators do not have to focus on monitors where no activity of note is taking place, because they are alerted any time there are significant changes. A focus on relevant events translates into an ability to handle many more cameras, and at the same time means less need for hands on operators.

"This integration with Ocularis strengthens our position in the market and allows us to provide unsurpassed image quality and situational awareness to the other breakthrough technologies already supported by OnSSI's powerful Ocularis platform," said Peter Jones, President of Scallop Imaging. "We are looking forward to continuing to work with OnSSI to enable customers to utilize the power of our panoramic, distributed imaging video platform."

"Integrating the features of Scallop Imaging's distributed imaging cameras into the Ocularis platform is a win-win for customers that provides them with great image quality, instant access to video, and real alerts. The result is a highly advanced and intelligent surveillance solution," said Gadi Piran, President and CTO at OnSSI.
