Farpointe Data distributes its Data products and options to manufacturers in New England

Farpointe Data, the access control industry's global partner of choice for premium RFID solutions, recently announced that Thomas E. Piston, Jr. will help security system manufacturers and integrators from the New England and Mid-Atlantic states provide their customers with Farpointe Data products and options that will better meet their customers' needs for card-based access control and other applications. Located in Hagerstown, Maryland, Piston takes over as Farpointe's East Coast Sales Manager today.

"With his heavy background in marketing as well as sales, Tom looks forward to helping our customers provide new solutions for their customers," emphasises Scott Lindley, Farpointe Data president. "With the future of RFID growing each and every day, Tom will show security manufacturers and integrators how RFID technology provides access to offices, parking lots, hotel rooms, gyms, cars and homes. Going beyond these solutions, he will challenge them to explore new opportunities, for example using RFID to identify individual library books and allow the charging of electric vehicles."

"I look forward to helping Farpointe OEMs and integrators provide the most flexible, reliable solutions they require to meet their customers' needs," adds Piston. "I'm excited to join a company that understands OEMs and integrators must have a vendor that provides product on time. Since Farpointe generally gets ordered products shipped to its customers within 48 hours of order, does not insist on quantity or dollar minimums and backs many products with a lifetime warranty, I will be able to help our customers move forward versus concentrating on putting out fires."

Up until now and for the previous four years, Piston has been the Vice President of Business Development for Dynamark Security Centers, which provides home and commercial security systems with offices throughout the United States. For the prior decade, he was managing director of Futrex, where he helped create and leverage a network of distributors and independent national sales organisations.

Piston has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Syracuse University.
