The ongoing reconstruction of Skärholmen Centre is a comprehensive construction project.  A total of 400 construction workers are involved in the project that will take a few years to complete.  In order to keep up with who is at the workplace, Skanska has chosen the Bewator Entro access control system that has been integrated into the time registration and card production software.

For the inauguration day in 2008, the old centre building from the 1960s will have increased its shop surface area by 60 % to 60 000.  This change project is part of the investment in the renewal of the southern districts of Stockholm, the ‘Southern Districts Vision'.

For total contractor Skanska, the Skärholmen Centre contract amounts to a value of half a billion kronor.  The fact that the reconstruction will lead to a large organisation is not least shown by the long list of construction workers, 400 people, and the large number of Portacabins, eight of them.

When Skanska and Flexib El came to produce a solution for security and access control to the construction site, it was necessary to consider the special environment created by the temporary Portacabins.  The solution was the Bewator Entro access control system with wireless communication between the sub-centres to the card readers that are connected.

In order to check on who is at the workplace, Skanska has chosen to use the Bewator Entro function to check on attendance.  The site manager can easily use the Windows-based software to obtain lists of those people who are currently at the workplace.  The software consultant RSoft has developed time registration software, among other things, that has been integrated with Bewator Entro.  Bewator's own-developed communication protocol BAPSI enables the transfer of each entry and exit to the time registration.

Both the eight Portacabins and the site office are each equipped with two card readers, one for entry and one for exit, a total of 18 card readers.

From the PC in the site office, the Bewator Entro access control system is administered in the user-friendly software that has been integrated into the card production time registration software.  When the administrator is to register a new user in the system, you start by setting up all personal information in the time registration software.  You then read in the card number via the tg-prox keyboard reader.  The personal information is then transferred automatically over to the card production software and via BAPSI to Bewator Entro.

When a construction worker enters via a card reader, he is registered as present at the workplace and the event is transferred via BAPSI to the time registration software.  Construction workers are time registered in the same way when they leave.
