Genetec™, a leading provider of unified IP security solutions, recently announced a new integration between its unified security platform, Security Center and the Command Processor™ panels from Digital Monitoring Products (DMP). The first panels to be integrated will be the XR100N, XR500N and XR500E, with additional integrations expected in the future as this technical alliance evolves.  By centralising access control, video and intrusion systems into one unified platform, security operators will be able to make decisions based on a more complete view of their security environment. Additionally, intrusion events and alarms tagged with video will help reduce false alarms and their associated costs, while increasing the overall efficiency of security teams.

The DMP intrusion panels can be quickly and easily connected to Security Center over any IP network, thereby avoiding the need for additional wired connections, facilitating deployment and ensuring real-time communications.

Unlike other integrated solutions on the market, Genetec Security Center combined with DMP Panels will enable users to view intrusion alarms and manually arm/disarm panels directly from within Security Center, set up automated actions to arm based on time or system events, and program intrusion user information (such as user card and PIN information) into the panel.

The Security Center mobile app, which is available on Apple iOS and Google Android devices, will allow organisations to easily track intrusion alarms, instantly view new alarms and associated live or recorded video, from live-feed intrusion information that is automatically pushed to user smartphones.

“Intrusion panel integration is an integral part of our vision for unified security. Through this integration between our Security Center solution and DMP intrusion panels, users will be able to consolidate security and alarm monitoring for a greater level of security and situational awareness. Additionally, typical costs associated with false alarms can be significantly reduced, as organisation can review live or recorded video of intrusion alarms prior to dispatching security personnel or local law enforcement to respond to an event, ” commented Jimmy Palatsoukas, Senior Manager of Product Marketing at Genetec.

The DMP intrusion panel integration with Genetec Security Center is scheduled to be available with the upcoming release of Security Center 5.2 SR7, expected by end-of-summer 2014.
