JVC's VN-V225VPU, powerful mini-dome camera
JVC integrates its IP video surveillance cameras with the Genetec IP video surveillance system
JVC Professional Products, division of JVC U.S.A., announced today the integration of its IP video surveillance cameras with the Genetec IP video surveillance system. Genetec customers can now seamlessly integrate JVC's line of V.Networks IP cameras, including PTZ models such as the VN-V686WPBU and powerful mini-dome cameras such as the VN-V225VPU, into their new and existing Omnicast deployments.

According to Geoff Anderson, JVC national marketing manager for security products, the integration illustrates JVC's commitment to open architecture solutions. "Now, integrators have a choice of using the industry's top performing cameras with the popular Genetec video surveillance system," he said.

V.Networks cameras feature JVC's latest image processing circuitry to provide sharp images with high contrast and good colour saturation. Features like Easy Wide-D improve dynamic range and provide details in poorly lit situations, while JVC's efficient compression technologies conserve bandwidth without sacrificing image quality.

Through a unified, scalable interface, Omnicast provides seamless IP network management of digital video, audio, and data using hardware and IT infrastructures from various manufacturers. JVC is the latest IP camera manufacturer to be added to Genetec's growing list of IP network camera drivers.

"Omnicast is a well established choice for surveillance systems in transportation, education, retail, and gaming," Anderson added. "We are pleased to be working with the professionals at Genetec to provide reliable and bandwidth efficient IP video surveillance solutions."

"Collaborating with JVC on this integration is another example of how leading technology companies can work together to offer fully compatible solutions," said Dana Tarlescu, manager, Genetec Technology Partner Program. "At the end of the day, it is our customers that count. The integration of JVC IP network cameras with our video management solution gives our customers a wider choice in network cameras."
