With large portions of the country covered in snow and some areas still inaccessible at the time of writing, many premises are being left unsecured for large periods of time because security guards have not been able to travel to and from locations. The inevitable travel chaos and road closures continue to exacerbate the situation, which has led to some client's looking for alternative security solutions.

In a recent Technology v/s Guard cost comparison by a leading industry expert; such a system saved a client £30,000 in the first year when compared with a ‘round-the-clock' manned guard. This was based on a guard covering a site on a 128 hour shift, in comparison to the installation of a 16 channel CCTV system coupled with the annual fees for remote monitoring and a key holding response service.
