Corps Security has announced a new agreement with Atec Security, a leading installer of high-end access control and CCTV systems. The arrangement will allow all Atec Security’s clients to benefit from round the clock remote surveillance via the Corps Monitoring Centre (CMC), the UK’s most advanced facility of its kind.
The CMC provides alarm receiving and CCTV monitoring services to customers in a diverse range of market sectors on an independent basis, or as part of an integrated service. Eric Roberts, Corps Security’s CMC business development director, explained, ‘Located in Glasgow, this state of the art facility highlights Corps Security’s commitment to innovation and forward thinking. To complement this resource we have also attained National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold accreditation to go with our existing BS 8418 and ISO 9001:2008 certifications.’
Based in Wolverhampton and London but with a national presence, Atec Security has established itself over the last 26 years as one of the country’s foremost independent security installation experts. Its stature and unique approach to what it does has been recognised with a number of high profile accolades, culminating in 2011 when it was awarded Large Security Installer of the Year at the Security Excellence Awards.

Although it has used CCTV monitoring centres in the past Atec Security had a negative experience that meant that it had not felt confident in recommending this type of service to its customers. However, after hearing a great deal of positive third party comment about the CMC and meeting Eric Roberts and his team, it was clear that the two companies shared a common outlook and ethos. One key factor that helped cement the relationship is a commitment to using best in class technology and, in particular, the use of video analytics.
Both companies have recently announced strategic agreements with Avigilon, the IP video surveillance specialist. Highly innovative, Avigilon’s Control Center HD network video management software and IP megapixel cameras deliver superior image quality and maximum coverage. It efficiently compresses and preserves image quality while intelligently managing HD image transmission throughout the entire Avigilon system – sending only the requested portions of captured images.
Control Center has already been integrated into the CMC and Corps Security is stimulating interest about the system amongst its approved installers and end users. At the same time Atec Security is promoting the technology to its clients, many of which are implementing its use.
