ASSA launches high-security panic hardware
Designed with innovation and accessibility in mind, ASSURE products combine high security and user safety

ASSA - a leading manufacturer of ironmongery and door hardware for education and healthcare establishments - has launched a ground-breaking range of high-security panic hardware.

Designed with innovation and accessibility in mind, ASSURE products combine high security and user safety. Included in the range of hardware is the UK's first panic exit device to integrate a push pad or bar with an escape sash lock.

The ASSURE range provides solutions for either panic escape routes - applicable to public buildings with high user traffic - or emergency escape exits, such as office buildings and staff areas.

At the forefront is the ASSURE 1520, the only single-point escape device to incorporate a 25mm hardened steel deadbolt for maximum security. This high-level security solution is supplied with a push bar or push pad, plus an ASSA Modular 1520 escape sash lock with deadbolt.

ASSURE 8761 offers a medium-level security solution, with a choice of single-action escape devices. A push bar or push pad is supplied with an ASSA Modular 8761 deadlocking escape night latch.

Both the ASSURE 1520 and 8761 provide automatic deadlocking and can be incorporated into an ASSA master key system. A standard door preparation is required and all products can be retrofitted for added convenience.

The products have been designed to meet challenging security needs within education and healthcare environments

Complementing the 1520 and the 8761 are a number of multi-point escape devices, offering a high level of security and user safety. Included are the ASSURE 200 bar or pad and the ASSURE 400 bar or pad, both of which provide a two-point locking system.

The ASSURE range also offers a three-point locking option, ASSURE 300, or a five-point system, ASSURE 500, for double-rebated doors in cases where the utmost security is required.

Designed to meet challenging security needs within education and healthcare environments, panic bars have been tested to BSEN 1125 (2008), the required specification on public escape routes. Push pads located on exit doors including office buildings conform to BSEN 179 (2008).

For added flexibility, the ASSURE range is complemented by additional door furniture, including dead knobs and lever handles. The ASSURE range is available in the UK from the operating company, ASSA ABLOY Door Solutions, and nationwide via ASSA Security Centres - a network of professional locksmiths and security installation companies.

Karen Pearce, Product Manager with ASSA ABLOY Door Solutions, said: "ASSURE is a real development for us as we enhance our existing product base and offer our customers and installers a new, pioneering range of escape devices."

"We strive to deliver innovative security solutions in response to the complex security needs faced by schools and hospitals. At the heart of our approach is an understanding that end-user requirements come first, with safety, security and convenience key to our product offering."
