ASSA ABLOY Security Doors’ bespoke doorsets will address fire safety, successfully certified to BS 476 part 22
Over 300 fire and acoustic steel doorsets will be installed throughout the new building

Following its work on The Shard last year, ASSA ABLOY Security Doors UK is now supplying its high security steel doorsets to its sister building which, together, form the London Bridge Quarter development.

More than 300 fire and acoustic steel doorsets will be installed throughout the new building, being developed by Sellar Property Group in association with LBQ Ltd. Known as ‘The Place’, the new building will provide 428,000 sq ft net of prime office space at London Bridge when it’s completed in 2013.

Working closely with joinery contractor Ruddy Joinery Ltd, ASSA ABLOY Security Doors’ bespoke doorsets will address fire safety, successfully certified to BS 476 part 22, providing the necessary level of fire protection under British and European standards. Balanced with access and acoustic control, the doorsets will contribute to a safe and efficient 21st Century build.

Tony Carter, Contracts Director for Ruddy Joinery Ltd., said: “On such a high-profile project – particularly following the attention its older sibling received during the summer – it was important for us to work with a company that has experience in this kind of large-scale, challenging build.”

Chris Cole, Regional Sales Manager for ASSA ABLOY Security Doors, said: “With this new building forming part of the wider £2 billion development of London Bridge Quarter, we are very proud to have been involved.”

“We have also provided and installed some of our London Underground approved security doorsets, as there are unrivalled connections for London Bridge Station, which is currently undergoing redevelopment.”

ASSA ABLOY Security Doors supply fire doors of up to 240-minutes integrity on single-action doors, measuring up to 3m x 3m, designed and manufactured by ASSA ABLOY Security Doors expert draughtsmen at its Lisburn-based factory.
