Suprema is the first to receive certification in the biometric access control and time attendance segment

Suprema, Inc., a leading global provider of technology in biometrics, security and ID Solutions, recently announced its biometric scanner products are certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards. Suprema is the first to receive the certification in the biometric access control and time attendance segment in association with its local partner in India, A-ID Systems.

Under the Electronics and Information Technology Goods Order issued by the Indian Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEIT), 15 electronic and information & technology products are required to comply with the applicable Indian safety standards and mandatory registration before they are imported to, distributed, or sold in India.

The certification extends from Suprema’s corporate brand and its products for biometric scanners for access control and time & attendance, which include FaceStation, a next generation intelligent face recognition terminal as well as various fingerprint terminals such as BioLite Net, BioEntry W, BioEntry Plus and BioStation.

“It is very meaningful to receive the first BIS registration grant in the access control and time attendance market and industry,” said Young S. Moon, Vice President of Suprema Inc. “As demand for our products has been steadily increasing in the Indian market, we have endeavoured to comply with these strict and critical procedures in the shortest order. Suprema hopes that the prompt application and certification will accelerate our business in the marketplace.”

“BIS Certification is a great milestone for us to offer quality solutions to our customers by eliminating cheap and harmful products from our market.” Mr. Sandeep Shetty, CEO of A-ID Systems India commented on this good achievement for Suprema.

According to a market research, the access control portion of the Indian electronic security system industry is around 24%, with a market size reaching USD 120 million and a projection of 25% CAGR, the second-largest following the CCTV industry.
