Suprema, a global leader in biometrics and security, announced the launch of BioStation 2. A revolutionary new fingerprint terminal that re-defines the boundaries of biometric technology with unmatched performance in speed and accuracy.

BioStation 2: web-based open security platform

BioStation 2 leverages powerful hardware and sophisticated algorithms to improve accuracy and provide matching speeds of up to 20,000 fingerprints per second. The terminal also features a new optical sensor that enhances the capture of wet or dry fingers.

BioStation 2 has Power-over-Ethernet, Wiegand, IP65 certified exterior to allow system designers to place the terminal in both indoor and outdoor environment. The terminal also features extensive communication interfaces including TCP/IP, RS485, Wiegand and USB.

BioStation 2 is a perfect extension to the BioStar 2 ecosystem. BioStar 2 is Suprema’s newly released web-based open security platform. It supports a comprehensive API library to allow integrators to build a single unified security solution as well as an Extension Framework to allow developers to add key functionality directly into BioStar 2.

Suprema VP comments

“I envision BioStation 2 as the beginning of a new era in biometrics. Recent advancements in technology have redefined the limits of a biometric terminal. A single terminal can offer the benefits of biometrics for a small office to a metropolitan area such as Miami.” said Young S. Moon, VP of Suprema Inc. “BioStation 2’s potential is fully realised through BioStar 2. BioStar 2 will serves as a core for the Suprema’s future ecosystem”
