Linear received overwhelming response to their first ever inter-office food drive to benefit food banks in states where they have offices
Linear launched the initiative in August, which resulted in various offices collecting non-perishable food items

Linear LLC, the leader in residential and commercial access control, emergency response and security solutions, is proud to announce an overwhelming response to their first ever inter-office food drive to benefit food banks in states where they have offices, including California, Michigan, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

Beginning in August, Linear launched an inter-office food drive initiative, where competing teams from the various offices challenged and encouraged one another to collect non-perishable food items for local community food banks. From launch until the final drop-off in October, the food drive competition resulted in the collection of more than 6,000 lbs of food that will benefit the San Diego Food Bank in California, Palmetto House in South Carolina, Chester County Food Bank in Pennsylvania and Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank in Michigan.

"So often we find ourselves caught up in the chaos of life, that we forget there are people who can benefit from simple acts of giving," said Duane Paulson, senior vice president of product and market development at Linear, LLC. "At Linear, we are fortunate to have incredibly generous employees, eager to donate their time and effort to help those in our community. Partnering with local food banks has allowed us to set a precedent for other local companies, challenging them to step up and support the fight against hunger, while greatly boosting company morale."

On Friday, October 12th, Linear team members gathered for the final weigh-in, while packaging the last of their collection items for a personal, hand-delivery to the various food banks.

According to FeedingAmerica.com, about 50.1 million Americans live in food insecure households, 33.5 million adults and 16.7 million children. This also includes 8.8 percent of seniors living alone, roughly one million households. Food insecurity exists in every county in America, ranging from a low of five percent in Steele County, ND to a high of 37 percent in Holmes County, MS.
